January 21, 2013 Meeting

Very fun meeting last night.  We learned the Bazooka Bubble Gum Song (sorry, parents, for those girls who were still singing it last night).  Daisies Alexis E, Annabelle, Annie, Kylee, Madilyn, and Maggie all earned their "Respect Myself & Others" petal and can add the purple petal to their tunic or vest.

It's Cookie Time and we spent most of our meeting focused on cookie sales.  We talked a lot about goals, personal and troop, and we talked about what we want to do with our money.

Our Troop Goal is officially 2,500 which is a little under 200 boxes for each girl to sell.  And of course, after looking at the rewards, many girls wanted to set their own goal at 2,500.  Feel free to have discussions with your daughters about their goals and, if you do not feel their goal is realistic, help them set on that may be more realistic.  For example, Maggie wanted to set her goal at 1,000 boxes as that reward is a week at camp.  She and I talked about what it would take to sell 1,000 boxes herself.  We decided to call 1,000 boxes our "hard" goal and set 250 boxes as our "easy" goal.

I will have more blog posts to give helpful information on selling, door hangers or other notes to use if someone is not home, a post on how to use the eBudde system to enter your orders (VERY helpful for me, "Cookie Mom," when enterin our final orders), and a post on all the fun things and service projects the girls want to use their money for.  All of the clip art in these posts prints out very nicely.  I already have one on my door at work.  Be sure to check with your (or your spouse's or grandparent's or other helpful adult's) work on any rules they may have regarding fundraising or selling -- at my work, Maggie can't come and go office to office, but I can let people know my daughter is selling cookies by a sign or sending out an email.

If questions come up, please do not hesitate to post a question on Facebook or call or email Jean or me.  We will try to post those questions to Facebook because if you have the questions, chances are someone else has the same question.

Next meeting is Monday January 28, 5:45 at Harvest Church.  We will have a guest speaker, Ms Diane Jenkins, DEA Agent.  She will help the Daisies earn their "Respect Authority" petal and we are looking for a Brownie patch equivilant.
Promise: Caitlyn; Law: Tori; Snacks: Kylee; Friendship Squeeze: Maggie
