Newsletter, December 3 Meeting

Another wonderful meeting!  Thank you all for coming and your support!!

We voted on our Troop Crest and we will be Unicorns! The Unicorn is a symbole of Courage. The Brownies will be able to add the crest to their sash or vest.  Daisies will get their crest when we bridge to Brownies in the spring.

We also agreed to do some Christmas cards for Girl Scouts in New York who were affected by Hurricane Sandy.  We will work on the cards during our meeting on December 10.

Upcoming Events:
Ice Skating on Saturday December 8th.  If you are registered, you should have received a letter in the mail with the details.  The girl's registration included ice skate rentals.  3 p.m. Centennial Rink in the Heights.
Awards Ceremony, Monday, December 17. Families are encouraged to come.  We will do pot luck for food.  Watch Facebook for a list of what to bring.

Daisies: We finished reading Chapter 5 in our Journey book and talked about worms, composting, chips and guacamole.  We completed page 76 together: Our project is to Help Bees and we will do this by planting flowers in the spring (Brownies will help us with our project!).  Homework: Please read Chapter 6 at home and write a letter to a future Daisy.  We will read our letters at the Awards Ceremony on the 17th!

Brownies: We finished up our Discover Badge & worked on our Team Agreement.  Homework: Please work on your My Best Self Badge.

Next Meeting: December 10, Harvest Church, 5:45 p.m.
Promise Leader: Andraya
Law Leader: Annabelle
Snacks: Alexis
Friendship Squeeze Starter: Kylee

Reminder: If you haven't submitted your money for Fall Fundraising, please get that to Jean before Friday, December 7th.  She needs to have all the money turned into the council.  We will receive the patches and incentives in February and will determine how best to distribute -- if we will do it at a troop meeting or wait until we have an Awards Ceremony.

BIG THANK YOU to Macy's Mom, Anna, and Riann's Mom, Nancy, for volunteering to be our Cookie Moms!  We will get you all the information.

And Thank You to Annabelle's Mom who agreed to help with attendance and dues at our meetings!
